Stephen Lovatt (born May 27, 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand) is an actor, best known for his portrayal of the character Max Hoyland on the Australian soap Neighbours.
Since training as an actor at the New Zealand Drama School, Lovatt has appeared on various television shows: his credits include Medivac, Being Eve, Something in the Air, Cleopatra 2525, Mysterious Island, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its two spin-offs, Young Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess. In addition, Lovatt will appear in the upcoming feature film Show of Hands alongside Melanie Lynskey.
In 2006, Stephen Lovatt was awarded the title "Australia's Brainiest Neighbour" on a celebrity edition of the game show Australia's Brainiest.
