Stephen Peter Kearney (born June 11, 1972 in Paraparaumu, New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby league coach and former player.

Kearney started his career with the Kapiti Bears. Turning professional he then played for the Western Suburbs Magpies, Auckland Warriors and the Melbourne Storm in the Australian National Rugby League competition before finishing his career with Hull FC in the English Super League competition.

Kearney represented the New Zealand national team on many occasions, captaining them several times. His position of choice was in the second row. In 1993 he was the Kiwi's youngest test captain.
