Stephen Arroyo (born October 6, 1946 in Kansas City, MO) is an American astrologer.

Arroyo is the author of eight books on psychologically oriented astrology and is one of the best-selling authors of modern astrology books worldwide.[citation needed] With a background in mathematics, the arts (an honors degree in literature from the University of California), and a Masters Degree in Psychology, Stephen Arroyo has developed a system that emphasizes the individual’s experience of the Solar System’s dynamic impact on the human energy field, both psychological and physical, explicitly rejecting the fatalism and negativity of old-fashioned astrology. His theories and observations grew from his many years of one-to-one counseling work (he earned the California Marriage, Family & Child Counseling License) and also by practising body- and energy-centered therapies such as Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy.

Renowned for the reliable methods he has distilled for understanding astrological principles in relation to the human energy field, he has reformulated traditional astrology into modern psychological and energetic terms, demonstrating astrology’s unique value as the most comprehensive language of life, personality, and inner experience that is available to us today. As Library Journal stated: “The simplicity and clarity of his treatment of complex ideas is remarkable; it makes accessible even to the beginner a wealth of understanding.…giving meaningful psychological grounding to astrological interpretation.”

His books have now been translated into 20 languages, confirming his gift for communicating in a way that people of all cultures and backgrounds can easily relate to.

In addition to numerous appearances in the US, he is internationally known as a guest speaker and seminar leader in the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, and Switzerland. He also taught some of the first college courses on astrology in the US, and has been awarded the British Astrological Association Astrology Prize, the Fraternity of Canadian Astrologers’ International Sun Award, and United Astrology Congress’s Regulus Award.

Arroyo's forthcoming book, PERSON-TO-PERSON ASTROLOGY: Energy Factors in Love, Sex and Compatibility, based on more than two decades of research, interviews and questionnaires, is scheduled for publication in the fall of 2007[update needed].
