Stephanie Renee Cox (born April 3, 1986 Lopez, Los Gatos, California) is an American soccer defender and member of the United States women's national soccer team.
Lopez grew up in Elk Grove, California and attended Elk Grove High School. She is attended the University of Portland, where she was a member of Portland's 2005 NCAA championship team, and completed her senior year in 2007. Lopez played on several U.S. national youth teams and was the captain of the U.S. team at the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship. She earned her first cap for the senior women's team at the 2005 Algarve Cup. She was a starting defender for the U.S. in the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup. She married former University of Portland baseball player Brian Cox on December 16, 2007 and now uses his last name. She was named the 2007 Oregon Amateur Athlete of the Year.
