[edit] Career

She is most famous for her role as Tammy Layne Winslow, the daughter of Cassie Layne Winslow and ex-husband, Rob Layne, on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light whom she portrayed from July 2002 to March 2007. Her character's pairing with Tom Pelphrey's Jonathan Randall won the young actress a lot of press. The success came with some controversy as the characters were first cousins. However, despite the family relationship, the couple became popular with viewers and Gatschet garnered quite a following.

As a child, Gatschet took ballet, piano, and acting lessons. Her professional career began at the age of nine, when she appeared in her first play, Oedipus the King, at a local Philadelphia theatre. After performing in a few local plays, Gatschet began to appear in theatrical productions off-Broadway in New York. She also began to make commercials for television and radio, and to make episodic TV appearances in shows such as As the World Turns and Law & Order. During her first year of college at New York University (NYU), Gatschet won roles in a few independent feature films like Roger Dodger and Virgin. Prior to her role on Guiding Light, Gatschet was working on a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Tisch School at New York University. She is currently working on an English degree at Marymount Manhattan. She is also a member of the Humane Society of the United States.
