Stellar Course Management System

The Stellar Course Management System is MIT's online learning environment. It is used to by instructors and students working on ongoing classes and projects, in contrast to OpenCourseWare, MIT's open publishing system for completed classes.

Stellar released version 1.7, in Fall 2005. The Stellar development team is involved in the development of Sakai and used its experience with Sakai to produce Stellar 2 in Fall 2006.

Stellar is written in Java and uses XSLT templates for its presentation layer.
