Stege founded in 1876 was a city in western Contra Costa County, California[1] which has now been largely destroyed and absorbed by Richmond, California.[2] It was a farm town founded by Richard Stege surrounding his ranch and featured a general store and railroad stop.[2] The town had a largely agricultural economy especially frog farming for domestic consumption.[2] It is located at coördinates: 37.9165915, -122.3271925, 375500N, 1221938W.[1]
