Steeton and Silsden railway station serves the villages of Steeton and Silsden in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated closer to Steeton than to Silsden, and is on the Airedale Line. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Northern Rail. Steeton & Silsden closed in 1965 but reopened in 1990[1].

Because the station is the first station covered by Metro subsidised ticketing from Skipton, there are problems with car parking at the station. It is hoped that an extension to the Metro area, to include Skipton, will alleviate this.[2]. The station also lacks full access for disabled users, leading some to catch trains in the opposite direction to change platforms[3].

[edit] Services

Monday to Saturday daytimes, there is a half-hourly service from Skipton to Leeds and Bradford Forster Square respectively. Evenings there is a half-hourly service to Leeds and hourly to Bradford. Sundays, the service is hourly to Leeds and two-hourly to Bradford.

These services are normally provided by Class 333 EMUs.

In addition on Mondays to Saturdays one of each of the through services towards Morcambe and Carlisle stop in the evening. These are served by a variety of Diesel Multiple Units.
