Steady Fools is the debut studio album by Korben and was released in August 2006. The album marks the beginning of Korben's signature sound by moving away from a past, less consistent writing style, (lyrically and structurally) to a more solid, hook driven style. With its reliance on guitar-driven choruses, and Erin's melodic vocal stylings on "Sadie Rose" and "Always My Fault", Steady Fools utilizes the dramatic element Erin's voice brings, along with Chad's semi 70's guitar stylings. Frontwomen Erin Gerber sings with perfect clarity and honesty, bringing a relatable sadness to the emotional album. Direction to the album is provided by the constant pushing from Chad Gerber's unmistakable signature guitar sound.

Korben recorded the album at The Sound Wave in Santa Monica, California, and mixed it at Studio Atlantis in Los Angeles, CA.

The title Steady Fools is derived from Korben's belief that people (including themselves) are reliably foolish in how they treat others, and handle living in general.
