[edit] Gueroloco
A tag has been placed on Gueroloco, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JHMM13 21:04, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Improving Gueroloco
This article needs drastic improvemetn. It needs to sound like an encyclopedia article, not a press release or a fan bio. It also can't be copied from a myspace page or other such site. and facts really ought to be cited -- that is, the reader needs to be told of a reliable source where these facts can be verified. What source did you use? What published source would you point others towards? DES (talk) 23:01, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- You wrote: "I am sorry that you don't like the bio but as someone who writes for a magazine I deal with many bios that don't give the facts so I wrote his with that in mind. I don't know what you mean about a reliable source. I am the reliable source. I am Gueroloco's Manager and it is my job to know everything about him. It is posted on his myspace but that is because I told him to put it there. He has never had his bio published but has already recieved lots of press attention. He was on tour in Kentucky in November, Mexico in December, the Chicago Music Awards in January and he is currently finishing his album.

- It isn't a question of whether I like the bio or not, it is a question of wikipedia's standards and formats. If you are this performer's manager you probably should not edit the article at all, see our conflict of interst policy. A reliabel source is generally a published source, independant of the subject. For exmaple a published article in a newspaper or a music magazine would usually be a reliable source, but a press relase would not. Read the page that I linked to for more on what a reliabel source is here on Wikipedia. Note also our neutral point of view policy. This means that articles should not either promote or attack their subjects, but should only stae verifiable facts about them. If Gueroloco has had press attention, citing the papers or magaziens where he has been discussed, and the dates that those articles were published, will help a lot. If the articles are available online, the articel should probably link to them.
- I have cut the article doewn to the facts asserted in your version, ommiting the promotion. I have also noted where these need to be supported by a citable source. I hope this helps. DES (talk) 23:46, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Promotional version
Please do NOT reinsert the version of Gueroloco will all the advertising and promotional terms. If this reinserted, the entire article will probal;by be deleted as a blatent advertisement. Note also that accounts that seem to be here for the sole or primary purpose of promting or advertising can be blocked from editing if they persit in thsi. Please read our confilcit of interest policy and our blockign policy. Thank you. DES (talk) 00:16, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
{{helpme}} Help. This is my first time actually adding something on Wikipedia. I don't know what to do. I would like to add more artists bios as I am in the Music Industry and I deal with Latin Music Artists on a day to day basis. - Hello and welcome. Creating a new page is fairly simple - you can do it by searching for the page title you want. When it comes up nonexistent, it will provide a red link. Be sure that you have it spelled correctly with the right capitalization before you create it.
- However, before you create a new page, there are a few things to consider. First, are you sure someone else hasn't made a similar page? Use the search function again and check around.
- Second, Wikipedia is interested in articles on topics that have notability. Are the bands you work with famous? Have their songs hit any charts? Do they have significant influences on other bands or the music world in general? Ask those questions before you start.
- In general, the links in the welcome message (about the five pillars) have a lot of useful introductory info about editting on Wikipedia. I'd read through those too.Best of luck as you find your way around. :)

[edit] Bullying
I am sorry that you felt bullied. That was not my intention. I was and am seriously trying to assist you. I took time to edit the article to a form that might be kept here, instead of leavign it in a form certian to be deleted. I am trying to explain what kinds of things work on wikipedia, and what kinds don't. it is a large and complex project, and it can take a while to get used to. Also, most experiencd contributors are seriously hostile to anything that seems to be using wikipeida to advertise. Wikipedia articles should describe things, but shouldn't promote or advertiese them; neither should articles attack things. You are welcome to stay if you want to contribute, and I an others will do our best to assit you. DES (talk) 12:21, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
