I'm a middle-aged male from the U.S., more specifically, New England. By trade, I'm a software engineer (with an actual degree in software engineering per se); most of my experience is in embedded telecom applications, but like many software folks, I have a more recent interest in World Wide Web-related programming. Perhaps more than most engineers (although probably not more than most Wikipedians), I really like writing and editing, and more generally, language and linguistics. Also of great interest to me, although I have but a bit of official training, is design in general, and in particular, landscape and architectural design on one hand and web design on the other hand. I enjoy a variety recreational activities, especially outdoorsy activities, including hiking, running, bicycling, soccer (er, football), and particularly orienteering.
