Talk:Starfleet ship registry and classes in Star Trek

[edit] Article history
In 2006 the talk page for List of Starfleet ship classes was moved to Talk:List of Starfleet starships ordered by class.
In Aug 2007 Starfleet starship registry was merged into List of Starfleet ship classes per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Starfleet starship registry.
In Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Starfleet ship classes this article survived being proposed for deletion. User:Colonel Warden suggested renaming as "Starfleet ship classes in Star Trek" to discourage it becoming a pure list.
Taking into account both the above I renamed it as Starfleet ship registry and classes in Star Trek. - Fayenatic (talk) 14:57, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Registry numbers
It has letters in it, but it's called a number. Does anyone else wonder about the utility of painting these symbols on a vehicle allegedly going far faster than light speed? Might as well "emblazon" the hull with heraldic dragons for the daring captains to aim their interstellar space-lances at. Does no-one else see the problem with this type of article in an encyclopediac context? Faster-than-light vehicles, faster-than-light weapons, computerized tracking - yet the average space batle in "Trek" must go well over 10 minutes, filling the whole time between commercial breaks. --Wtshymanski (talk) 16:52, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
