[edit] Dinosaur Planet

I made a page for the Dinosaur Planet Game, the original version of Adventures ~Guess who i am 1:07pm Saturday 26 August 2006

I think that Dinosaur Planet and Adventures pages should remain seperate they are different games, with different characters and plotlines, it would be too crowded on one page, keep them seperate. ~Guess who i am 7:58pm Saturday 26 August 2006

I could go either way. On one hand, we should keep all the info on this page, but I don't really mind if it has a seperate page. Thunderbrand 12:13, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't think it's necessary. They're not really two different games but rather just one game that underwent a huge overhaul. If this article was getting extremely long than I would have no problem with a seperate article, but right now length isn't really an issue. Perhaps you could just merge and redirect the article to here? (I say this because it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up on AfD soon.) Robert 14:28, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I believe that the Dinosaur Planet page should just be deleted altogether. There really isn't anything on that page that wasn't covered on the Star Fox Adventures page. PlatformerMastah 03:32, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
You'd either have to take it to AfD or the author has to request a speedy. There's no criteria I can use to speedy it. Robert 14:53, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
There was a bit on there that wasn't covered on here and wouldn't fit such as the storyline and characters ~Guess who i am 27 August 4:50pm 2006
The storyline can easily fit into the Origins section of this article, and Sabre and Kyte are mentioned here as well. I strongly suggest anything not already in this article be merged here and the Dinosaur Planet article redirected here. Also, please remember to sign your posts with four tildes, like this: ~~~~. Kyte isn't mentioned and I think that a seperate page can do better, so that there can be links to various media for the game, Earthbound 64 and Mother 3 (which are the same game) have different pages they are better seperated Guess who i am 23:42, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Guess who i am Monday 28th August 2006 9:42AM

Merge -More material, easier to get a Good Article out of it... I'm a mergist :) Judgesurreal777 01:13, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I went and redirected it. All the info can be comfortably contained here (or is here already). Thunderbrand 14:30, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GA passed

Compared to the GA criteria the article is :

1. Well written?: Pass
2. Factually accurate?: Pass
3. Broad in coverage?: Pass
4. Neutral point of view?: Pass
5. Article stability? Pass
6. Images?: Pass

There is nothing more I can say, this article is well-written and tightly stays on the subject while making comparisons with other games in different fields that appeared at about the same time. It might need a bit more copyediting for the Plot section in my opinion but it still is thoroughly well done. Congrats for the GA status. Lincher 14:28, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! I do agree the plot could use a bit more work, and will continue to improve upon it. Thunderbrand 14:36, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Krystalflying.jpg

Image:Krystalflying.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Good Article Reassessment - On hold

This article has been reviewed under the good article criteria and the following issues have been found. If the concerns are not addressed, the article may be delisted as GA:

  • Prose- awkward, repetitive prose- " Its graphics were very sophisticated for its time, receiving particular attention for its real-time fur rendering." - way to repeat what you say twice in the article. "Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned in an interview that after reviewing content of Dinosaur Planet for the Nintendo 64 the similarities of Rare's anthropomorphic designs to Nintendo's Fox McCloud design were strikingly similar and the title was changed to be a Star Fox brand launch game for the Nintendo GameCube."- run-on sentence
  • Sources- needs more of them, especially for stuff like "Star Fox Adventures uses a similar gameplay engine as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Its graphics were very sophisticated for its time, receiving particular attention for its real-time fur rendering."
  • Story- needs to cut down on the plot
  • layout- lots of one sentence paragraphs and choppy image placement- needs to flow. Reorganize sections and either remove the lone sentences or merge them in.

As no one has improved the article, I am delisting. David Fuchs (talk) 19:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] StarFox vs. Star Fox

Why was every reference to "StarFox" in the article changed to "Star Fox" and the article moved? Take one look at the game's packaging right there on the page - the title is clearly two words, not three. Can anyone offer any evidence otherwise? --Bishop2 (talk) 19:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, the packaging appears to be the ONLY reference to the game as "Starfox". On the official master games list, it is indeed listed as "Star Fox Adventures. Therefore, it should be listed as "Star Fox Adventures" as published. [1]Slyfield (talk) 08:01, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
