Talk:StarCraft professional competition
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi. I would like to know if someone could put the pro's payroll in a matter that is better formatted? I have little time to really edit (little experience with Wikipedia or any sort of HTML)
In my opinion, it's a necessary information to add as it shows the current state of the pro gaming era.
I could try to give out source soon.
Thanks (p-s: sorry for adding the payroll again. I thought someone deleted it for no reason.)
SOURCE: http://www.fighterforum.com/news/news_read.asp?cat=ISS&idx=11210 -- for all skT1 players
http://www.fighterforum.com/news/news_read.asp?cat=ISS&idx=11389 -- for all MBC players
BTW: Their payroll does not include other factors that brings them money, such as advertising, money for tv appearances, pc bangs, tournament winnings etc..
I've moved the salary information here for now as although it's correct as far as I've seen, it's poorly formatted and unsourced. ShardPhoenix 15:19, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Can someone please look over the comment about Boxer's "humiliating" loss to Savior on May 5, 2007? To my knowledge, this match is for charity and is not part of any professional engagement. I dont think friendly-matches is of any significance to a players' professional records.
Furthermore, Boxer had a team match in ACE vs MBC @ Shinhan Proleague on May 6, 2007 which he (and his team) won.
[edit] Shinhan Proleague and teams?
A summary of the proleague would be pretty relevant wouldn't it? It's newer but they play a lot of games and get about the same amount coverage as the OSL and MSL. LxRogue 08:08, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:SkyProLeagueFinal.jpg
Image:SkyProLeagueFinal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Aliases
Seeing that the names of the players link to pages irrelevant from starcraft, (Like stork, it links to the actual bird) should we change the links? (Besides iloveoov and players with their own page.)

- Well, eventually, these people should all have their own pages, and we can use proper linking for the common names ie [[Ma_Jae-Yoon|sAviOr]]Debivort 04:13, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Nomenclature
One could add something about shortcuts and abbreviations being used here. I had to think what "TvT" or similar (for example while "toss" suggest Protoss :P) means. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.87.13.70 (talk) 16:53, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] deletions of Stork and FBH
An anonymous editor is persistently deleting the sections for these players. I restored the sections, re-wrote them with citations and then they were deleted again. There is no reason they should be deleted now, as they are now in line with WP policies, such as WP:CITE and WP:NOTABILITY. I hope other editors of this article can weigh in on this issue. de Bivort 21:26, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- wow damn. Someone restore that stat. Where is the AfD page? 98.203.237.75 (talk) 04:26, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Too many notable players?
I think that there are way too many players listed in the notables section. There should be a pretty high threshold at which a player should be able to be placed on the list. --Must WIN (talk) 21:28, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed - I usually like preserving random stuff on wiki, but this may be taking it a bit too far :) Tehniobium (talk) 01:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GOMTV Star Invitational
Can someone add something about this? It's a pretty big deal, as it's the first professional Starcraft tournament to be broadcast in English (by Nick "Tasteless" Plott). Here's some info:

i second this, and also add something about the Gomtv starleauge and the world wide invitational league there doing(or was that a rumor) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.111.37.124 (talk) 04:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- You guys realize this is a wiki right? You are free to add any of this yourself. It is appreciated to discuss things on the talk page first but asking people to add stuff you could just as easily add yourself is a bit annoying. LonelyMarble (talk) 07:10, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
