[edit] Stanton: Demographics
Stanton is one of Orange county's racially diverse areas. In 1990, the city was 5% black, 40% Latino and 15% Asian, but the 2000 census saw the number of blacks is lower and Asians lost a few points. A high number of Hispanics live there, plus storefronts have Greek, Russian, Hindi, Arabic and Iranian language signs, and a huge percentage of Asian immigrants since the 1970's. Orange County has a high home price issue and has driven millions of lower-income or middle-class residents out the county in the last six years. Stanton is said to lost many blacks, Asians and even Latinos by the sudden increase in home prices and rents on working poor families. I wonder if Santa Ana, Anaheim and Garden Grove are no longer held as homes to large minority and underclass populations, then are seen as mostly white and middle class from the 1950's to the late 1970's. Demography is a guessing game, but the U.S. Census may undercount or are inaccurate in some places. + 207.200.116.195 03:40, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Emergency Services
Where did the story about the disbanding of the Police department due to a shooting of a 5 year old come from? Please provide citations or the dubious statements will be removed as probable vandalism.
I agree w/ what was originally posted about the Stanton PD(I noticed it at first about four months ago, then saw the "censoring" and immediate removal of the same article);too bad that a threat was made on that person to remove any and all mention of that incident(this WAS a tragic part of Stanton's history!)...This is NOT vandalism!...this is "sanitizing" municipal history to a degree that smacks of being "PC"...
Just about everybody in(and outside) Orange County knows about this event!!!...The story is true and you know it!!!...
The Orange County Register should have this story in their archives...Just look at www.ocregister.com and check it out...the archives should go back to 1985 and beyond...
Good luck...and NO MORE "cleansing" of history regarding the City of Stanton(or its now-disbanded police force), OK???...

Hey, Michaela, if you want I will try to restore the original story of its disbanding, OK???Baldwin91006 (talk) 01:33, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, Michaela, I'll try to re-edit this portion about the REAL reason for the Stanton PD's disbanding, but I'll probably get "chewed out" over and over by a certain editor who's determined to punish BOTH of us for revealing the true story...wish me luck!...Baldwin91006 (talk) 03:07, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Stanton Seal.jpg
Image:Stanton Seal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
