Talk:Standing Buddha
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] The title is incorrect
Standing Buddha is not a proper noun to refer to this status, so the article needs to move to its given name by scholars or curators of the museum. --Appletrees (talk) 12:34, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- You're right Appletrees. Maybe the title should be "Standing Buddha (Tokyo National Museum)", or "Gandhara Standing Buddha (Tokyo National Museum)" (I think it is the only such one from Gandhara, the others being Bodhisattvas or sitting Buddhas, but there are also Chinese standing Buddhas). Best regards. PHG (talk) 17:17, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

- I see. The museum has lots of statues depicting standing Buddha, so the latter without parenthesis seems to be Okay to me (eg. Gandhara Standing Buddha in Tokyo National Museum). And can you provide references? The article has no reference to be checked out and you can't edit it because of you-know-what reason, so I want to insert citations that you use. --Appletrees (talk) 17:34, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

- There are already a few inline quotations in the article, so a {{reflist}} would be needed for them to appear. My main references for the subject are:
