Talk:Standard fireworks
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This whole article now reads like a promotional advert, with many biased and unsourced comments, all in favour of Standard Fireworks.Wizlop (talk) 22:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
I will edit out some of the more obvious comments just designed to promote current products.Wizlop (talk) 22:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
I've cleaned up the bit about big displays, removing a lot of hype.Wizlop (talk) 22:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
I have removed the comment " Despite all the changes Standard still remains the leading family favourite Firework brand in the UK " because there was no source for it. It is almost certainly untrue. Likewise there was an unsourced reference to a Guardian Newspaper pol. In fact, the only links provided were to the Black Cat/Standard Website.Wizlop (talk) 22:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
This comment is partially incorrect- "In 1998 Standard were purchased by Chinese based Black Cat Fireworks – the largest manufacturer of fireworks in the world. This takeover meant that Black Cat switched the manufacture of fireworks to China" I believe Standard starting importing Chinese fireworks from about 1993, it was only in 1998 that production TOTALLY shifted to China. I'll edit it to reflect that. I'll also edit the comment about "embedding roots" to something more neutral.Wizlop (talk) 22:35, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Dated information
Standard fireworks has long since changed to Black Cat. The website link does not work.
Standard Fireworks actually refers to a company in Sivakasi, India. Their website link is http://standardfireworks.net/. They are the "world's largest pyrotechnic company" according to this article.
The British Firework Company information should be shifted to under Black Cat Fireworks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.186.9.6 (talk) 02:47, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
