[edit] Delete?

The necessity of a wiki page on Stan Polley is rather dubious, especially if the bulk of it is in reference to Badfinger. Without more biographical information and details about his other artist-clients, this page probably could be blanked. ZincOrbie 16:43, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

>>>No. It is relevant. It's good for the world to know about filth like Polley. It's people like him who are a good reason that rectal cancer exists. ANother Zionist after the soul of white America.

Blanked, no. You are free to nominate for deletion, that's how we get rid of articles on non-notable persons. The other option is this, if you believe that all of the information can be sucessfully moved into the Badfinger article:
  • You merge the content into Badfinger, and save that article
  • Then you clear this one of all content (apart from category assignment) and as the first line of this article you insert:
#redirect [[Badfinger]]
I'd urge you to consider whether a merge is possible and desirable, and if you want to do it either leave a note here asking for opinions or be bold and go ahead. I'd recommend against deletion, however, as I figure the guy is notable and the article worth keeping. --kingboyk 20:31, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
I've added quite a bit of info since my deletion suggestion (namely the criminal judgment in Riverside). I think it can hold up now on its own, especially if some more is added regarding Polley's management of Christie and Kooper. Polley also managed some lesser-known personalities like record producers and conductors that could be included.ZincOrbie 22:27, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
I'm of the opinion that this one should stay here, since he managed other bands. But I think Pete Ham should be merged into Badfinger. What do you think? --kingboyk 20:39, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
I agree. Aside from the two posthumous CD releases, Ham really is not recognized outside of the Badfinger sphere.ZincOrbie 22:27, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sources

It might be best to start quoting sources, including page numbers if the Mantoniva (sp.?) book is used - not that I'd advocate using him as gospel; other sources ought ideally to be introduced. --kingboyk 16:16, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Will do. Unfortunately, most of my Wiki time is at my office, where I do not have access to my files (and Matovina's book). Although I do not advocate using Matovina's book as gospel either, I have confidence in its facts as the author is a stickler about accuracy; plus, I conducted many of its interviews, transcribed, edited, and read the legal papers and contracts cited in the book. Instead of relying on third-hand sources for info, Matovina went straight to the sources themselves in most instances. ZincOrbie 18:13, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Complete rework of the article

As this article was nominated for deletion, I am prepared to rework it so it will better meet WP standards. However, I also do not wish to spend any lengthy time doing this if it is ultimately deemed unworthy due to the subject. I will wait and see how the nomination process unfolds before I attempt a rewrite.-- ZincOrbie (talk) 23:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
