Stan! Brown is a friend of mine and asked that I put the information from the Game Mechanics (a company he is part owner of) on the site. You can email him at stan@stannex.com if you need to ask him.

As for his importance, he is a long time industry leader in the world of role-playing, having been an employee of TSR and Wizards of the Coast. He was a designer on d20 Modern, as well as the lead developer for Dragonlance 5th Age. He is also an accomplished cartoonist, having one of the only long-term cartoons in Dragon Magazine, the industry leader. In addition, he is a successful author, primarily in the field of role-playing fiction. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brothersin (talkcontribs) .

What you need to do is read WP:COPY, specifically WP:COPY#Using copyrighted work from others. It would be even better, though, if you rewrote the text in your own words. The text from Game Mechanics is too tongue-in-cheek to be suitable for an encyclopedia, anyway. Powers 20:12, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

The current article is much better. Good job! The bibliography might be a bit much -- no need to list all of his articles, illustrations, and editing. And don't forget to link things. Powers 03:11, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moving

The article's current name is a bit silly, don't you think? Shouldn't it be moved to his real name? Unless of course his real name is Stan!, I dunno. DoomsDay349 21:09, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

It's certainly his nom de plume, if not his legal name. Powers T 00:30, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
I still think it's better to move his legal name. Anyone know what that might be? DoomsDay349 05:52, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Why? Wikipedia naming convention is to use the most common name. Powers T 19:50, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
I'll accept it if you can provide a reference to his common name being Stan! DoomsDay349 23:28, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Great, so now could you reference it next to his name perhaps, as a bit of confirmation? Thanks. DoomsDay349 20:04, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't really think that's necessary. Nowhere else, as far as I'm aware, do we justify a particular article title via citations. Powers T 13:22, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
All right, I concede. I wasn't meaning to be mean or anything, I honestly wasn't aware of legal name. DoomsDay349 23:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
No problem, it is highly unusual as names go, but I believe it's consistent with our other articles on people with pseudonyms. Powers T 01:20, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Interesting discussion - have added him to Stan dab page. PamD (talk) 08:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
