[edit] Stamford School badges
I believe the current discussion of badge colours is in error. I was a boarder at Stamford from 1949 to 1958. At that time, all students wore a red badge. The white badge was restricted to "old boys" (alumni). I hesitate to edit the text because memory can be faulty and the discussion is very detailed.
