Talk:Stabiae
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is difficult finding a sense of continuity between the first half of your article and the second half. It seems like the original stub was well established, and you might have been under the impression that it did not need to be edited to fit in with your research below the ruins heading. Perhaps a unified diction could fix this small problem.
Also, a few structural changes in the format of your article can make this easier to read. One body of text, without headings as transitions makes this a bit difficult to read. If you utilize big headings, like many other standardized articles, I think that this will help the reader transition from section to section. For example, this is most needed when you talk about the different villas excavated at Stabiae.
Outside of this, your article is well researched and highly detailed. Just make sure that it covers the basic who/what/when/where questions and you should be fine.

A lot of research went into this article and I have no suggestions on what should still be included. Although the section prior to Archaeological Ruins is not yours, you could improve the overall article by correcting the grammar. I noticed that one sentence started with a number (not 16, rather should be Sixteen), that present day could be simplified to present or today, and that it requires some commas for independent clauses. For a novice reader, perhaps you could define your terms when referencing ancient groups of people. For instance, I don't know who the Oscans were and a throw-away phrase like...the Oscans, who were a primitive group who lived in Campania, would have been useful for me. I concur with Jessica that headings would help readers attend to the various sections of this article. Other than reviewing the grammar throughout the article and adding headings, I don't have any suggestions for major improvements. Trixie L
It is clear you spent a lot of time researching your article and the resulting details are great. It's unfortunate you couldn't get pictures on the actual page, but the most of the links seem to be just fine for anyone who wishes to see some. You seem to have found a great deal of information about the ruins at Stabiae, but you didn't do much to incorporate your findings with the already existing article. Perhaps you could expand on what was mentioned in the first section and elaborate on life in the city before it was destroyed, if that information is available. Echoing the previous comments, I would also suggest breaking up the article into more headings, if that seems feasible to you. Great job finding so much detailed information! Sydney
Great job on finding so much information, so I agree that I really don't think theres much more you would need to add. I would just consider making a couple format changes. I agree more subheadings might help. I think that one specifically announcing the descriptions of the important villas would be helpful. You might also want to create a link at the bottom of your page to stabiae.org if you can. And I understand that it's not easy to get pictures but maybe a generic map with the location of Stabiae would be helpful to the reader in visualizing the location better. Other than that, I think you did a really good job. --P. Pacult
