"Stay Down" is an official single by Mary J. Blige taken from her eighth studio album, Growing Pains. The song was produced by Bryan-Michael Cox who also co-wrote the song with Johnta Austin and Blige herself. The song features classic Cox production with heavy programed drums, melodic keys, and dramatic string arrangements. The song also finds a more vocally subdued Blige than on their previous hit, "Be Without You".

The video for "Stay Down" was directed by Hype Williams and premiered on April 17, 2008. It features Blige singing "Stay Down" amongst panoramic views of snowy mountains and lakes. The video was shot right before "Heart of the City Tour"started. On May 23,the video started to receive its air play on UK Music channels. The video still plays on BET and other music channels.But it's not a choice for BET 106 & Park vote.
