Statesville Christian School is located in Statesville, North Carolina. It is a non-denominational K4 - 12 school serving the greater Statesville area.

In 1994 a group of concerned Christians began discussing the need for a Christ-centered educational institution for their children. As a result of these meetings, Statesville Christian School was founded on December 30, 1994 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The school is a totally independent institution governed by a ten member Board of Trustees. The school opened in the fall of 1995 with 61 students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. Today the school enrolls 490 students in grades Jr. Kindergarten through the twelfth grade and employs a staff of 62 teachers and support personnel. Our first senior class graduated in May 2003 with an average SAT score of 1224 and half of the graduates were named AP Scholars by the College Board. Our students gained admission to some of the region’s most selective colleges including Davidson College, Wake Forest University, UNC-Chapel Hill, The Citadel, Cedarville University, Wheaton University, North Carolina State, Baylor University and a number of other outstanding colleges and universities.

SCS has been blessed to use the facilities of Western Avenue Baptist Church and Northview Church of Christ, rent free, for classroom and office space. In 1999 the school purchased a modular classroom to create a modern science lab for our middle and high school students. In January of 2002, SCS purchased the building and property of Northview Church and recently completed the construction of a regulation soccer field and a 22,500 square foot athletic/academic center that provides a gymnasium, weight and fitness room, team dressing and shower facilities and specialized academic and fine/performing arts classrooms including two state-of-the-art science labs, three large classrooms and a band/music room. This new facility also includes a concession stand, teacher workroom and ample storage space. The school has recently purchased the Sam and Mary Gaither property, twelve acres located just to the east of Western Avenue Baptist Church on the northeast corner of Radio Road and Gaither Road. This property will enable the school to build additional athletic fields as well as a separate high school facility when enrollment warrants. This property adjoins undeveloped land owned by the City of Statesville which includes a small stream and large pond which can possibly be utilized by the school for fresh-water ecological research and instruction.
