[edit] Theme

The song chronicles various events in the singer's life, such as pawning his grandfather's guitar, losing his job, fighting with his father, and having a one-night stand with his "best friend's baby sister". In the chorus, the singer wishes that he had not done so much wrong, stating "If only I'd have known / That later on down the road, I'd look back and not like what I see / Oh, I'd have changed a lot of things / Startin' with me".[1]
