"Starfighter Pilot" was the fourth single released by Snow Patrol, from their debut album Songs for Polarbears. The song peaked poorly at #161 in the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody and the music was composed by Lightbody and the other two members of "Snow Patrol", Mark McClelland and Jonny Quinn.

Starfighter Pilot was originally released under Snow Patrol's former name Polarbear in 1997.[1]

It is the second track on the Songs for Polarbears album.

  • The two B-Side tracks on the "Starfighter Pilot" single were later included on the 2006 re-release of "Songs for Polarbears"
  • A second CD 'Stafighter Pilot Remixes', was released comprising of three remixes of the song by artists including Richard Colburn and Steve Hitchcock.
