Starchild is a 1984 album by singer Teena Marie. The album is most known for the hit "Lovergirl", Marie's most commercially-successful single. Also included is one of many musical tributes that year to soul legend Marvin Gaye, titled poignantly "My Dear Mr. Gaye." "Out on a Limb" is the heartbreaking story of the pains of letting go of love while "We've Got To Stop (Meeting Like This)" is a duet which tells the story of the difficulties of long-distance relationships.
Its peak position on the Billboard 200 was number 31.[citation needed]
