Starbucks City Mug

Starbucks City Mugs are collectable souvenir mugs available from Starbucks coffee stores worldwide. The mugs first appeared on shelves in 1994 and were a huge success. Thousands of collectors around the world are nowadays hunting for those mugs and some rare mugs already reach prices of up to US$1000.
Although there is no official classification, the following different styles - or editions have been or are being produced.

Collectors Series City Mugs: The majority of all mugs still come in the style of the first series from 1994. Many different motives and colours, but they are easy to identify.
97 States of Bean Mugs: Beautiful, colourful motives from several US states.
99 Series City Mugs (US only): Colored photos with typical images from over 30 US cities.
99 Series State Mugs: a very rare kind with only 4 different mugs from California, Texas, New York and Washington State.
02 Skyline Series: Not as colourful, but yet very interesting mugs from the US and Canada. Easy to identify by the special font!
04 City Scenes: Black and White pictures with landmarks of several cities from the US and Canada.
04 Art Deco Style: Similar to the '04 City Scenes, reminds of the Art Deco Style. Released in 4 US cities only, very rare!
05 Photo Series: Unique style motives from United Kingdom & Ireland. Feel lucky if you have managed to get some of these!
06 Architecture Series: Since 2006 the standard mugs in the US. Not particularly colourful, but check out those carefully picked motives and the level of details!
07 Park Series (US): A great idea! Beautiful mugs with motives from several city parks and national parks in the US and Canada.
Japan Series: A series of colourful mugs from several Japanese cities as well as one beautiful "Japan Country Mug" per year since 2002.
Asian Artsy Design Mugs: Colourful, lively mugs with intricate design mainly from Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia & Philippines.
Coffee Origin Mugs: Dedicated to the countries where Starbucks buys coffee beans!!! From Guatemala to Sulawesi
Mini Mugs: Tiny versions of some regular sized mugs, typical size for a single Espresso. Very Italian, very cool!!!
