Star Song Communications

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Star Song Communications was a record label that was started in 1976 by Darrell Harris. It gained notoriety when it issued Resurrection Band's ground-breaking debut album, Awaiting Your Reply in 1978. Originally a distribution deal was made with Benson Records. From 1983 until 1986 distribution was done by Word Records. After that, a deal was made with Sparrow Records until the launch of Chordant Distribution in 1993. In 1998, Chordant Distribution and all their lables such as StarSong, Forefront Records, Sparrow Records and others was acquired by EMI[1] and shortly afterwards launched EMI|CMG Distribution. See Official Website[2]

It was later announced that Star Song would only be used to issue reprints and their artists would be transferred to Sparrow.[2]
