Stará Huť is a village in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, near the town of Dobříš, in the disctrict of Příbram. The average age of the 1111 inhabitants is 36,8. It was founded around 1674, originally for the purposes of metallurgy. While the landscape is reported to be not fruitful and therefore not suitable for agriculture, it is a popular place for hiking. By the beauty of the forests, ponds and meadows was fascinated Karel Čapek, a Czech writer, who used to spend a lot of time in his local summer resindence in the latter half of the thirties of the 20th century, working and relaxing.
