Stannate

The stannate ion is SnO₃²⁻ or Sn(OH)₆²⁻.

A stannate (compound) is a compound containing this ion. Dehydrated forms may correspond to SnO₃²⁻; they may be hydrated to show the form Sn(OH)₆²⁻. For example, sodium stannate may be found as Na₂SnO₃ or Na₂SnO₃.3H₂O.
