[edit] History

A station opened at Stanmore in 1878[1]. The Main Suburban Railway Line through Stanmore was quadruplicated in 1892[2], and sextuplicated in 1927 in association with electrification works.[3] The island platform between the 'Down Suburban' and 'Up Local' tracks was the original station house and entrance, this became the current island platform on completion of quadruplication works in 1892.
