Stanley McClover (born December 16, 1984 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is an American football defensive end who was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft[1]. McClover played college football for the Auburn Tigers[2].
[edit] High School Career
Stanley McClover was a star defensive lineman at Dillard High in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. before signing with Auburn University.
A four-star and ranked as the nation’s No. 11[3] strongside defensive end by Rivals.com, McClover finished his senior season with 100 tackles, 20 tackles-for-loss, six forced fumbles and 32 sacks on the season. He was the leader of a young Dillard squad that finished 7-5, falling in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs.
As a junior he racked up 110 tackles, 13 sacks, three fumble recoveries, three blocked extra points and seven batted passes. He bench presses 370 pounds, squats 450 pounds, has a 39-inch vertical leap and runs a 4.70 40-yard dash.
He ended up with 58 sacks in his high school career.
McClover had previously committed to Ohio State University and also considered a number of offers including Miami, Florida, Michigan State, LSU and Tennessee.
