Stanhope Forbes

Stanhope Alexander Forbes R.A., (18 November 1857, Dublin – March 2, 1947 Newlyn, Cornwall), was an artist and member of the then influential Newlyn school of painters. He was married to fellow painter Elizabeth Adela Stanhope Forbes (1859-1912).
Forbes studied art at the Lambeth School of Art, then in Paris under Léon Bonnat. He moved to Newlyn in Cornwall in 1884, which was to be his home for the rest of his life.
