The Stanford Cardinal team is the basketball team that represents Stanford University in Stanford, California. The school's team currently competes in the Pacific-10 Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2008. The Cardinal were last coached by Trent Johnson, who left after the 2007-08 season to become head coach at LSU. On April 26, 2008, it was announced that former Duke assistant coach Johnny Dawkins will become the new head coach at Stanford.
