Standard of service

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Standard of service" (SoS) is used in Asset Management to define the level of service that an asset system will provide.

They can be used to:
- Inform customers of the service to be offered,
- Develop Asset Management strategies to deliver the required Standard of service,
- Measure performance against the defined standard of service,
- Identify the costs and benefits of the services offered,
- Enable customers to assess the suitability, affordability and equity of the services provided.

The SoS should be objectively measurable, so that performance can be audited effectively, and provide a sound foundation for Asset Management
