"Stand" is a dance-pop song written and produced by American singer-songwriter Jewel and songwriter-producer Lester Mendez for Jewel's fourth studio album, 0304 (2003). Released as the album's second single in October 2003 in the United States and later on internationally, the single failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. It nevertheless managed to chart on the Hot 100 Singles Sales at number sixteen, and also became Jewel's third consecutive chart-topper on the Hot Dance Club Play, the first two being "Serve the Ego" and "Intuition".
Singaporean singer Celest recorded a Mandarin-language version of the song in 2004.[1]

[edit] Commercial release
The single edit saw no alteration from its original version. However, it was listed as Single Mix on some promotional singles, which is no different from the album version.
"Stand" was released in two formats in the U.S.; the CD single contains "Stand" and the 0304 trumpet-driven track "Leave the Lights On" as a coupling track, while the CD maxi single contains all the song's club mixes. Both singles contained two different covers. International singles received the title track and some club mixes for its final release.
[edit] Music video
The music video for the single was directed by Chris Applebaum. It shows Jewel and some of the events described throughout the song's lyrics.
