Stan Statham

Stan Statham served in the California State Assembly from 1976 until he ran for Lieutenant Governor in 1994. He lost the primary to State Senator Cathie Wright. Statham was known as an advocate of the State of Jefferson. He represented the 2nd district from 1976 until 1992; however, during the redistricting after the 1990 census, his district was renumbered to be the 1st. He represented the 1st district from 1992 until his retirement in 1994.

Prior to becoming California state assemblyman, Statham was a television news anchor at KHSL-TV Channel 12 in Chico, California back in the 1960's. After retiring as assemblyman, he became the president of the California Broadcasters Association.
