Stage 88 Theatre is a community theatre company located in Bonita Springs, Florida. The company was founded in 2004 and performs in the Bonita Springs Community Hall at 27381 Old US 41. It is the official community theatre company of the City of Bonita Springs[1][2], and it is hoped to be a key force in the ongoing revitalization and redevelopment of the old downtown area, located along the Imperial River and Old US Route 41.[3]The City made an initial investment to improve community hall for the company, which moved into residency there in 2006 after spending 2004 through 2006 at the Norris Center Theatre in Cambier Park in Downtown Naples.[4] The company plays to and enlists volunteers from a wide geographical area ranging from Bonita Springs, Naples, Estero, San Carlos Park, Fort Myers, and Cape Coral.[5] [6] [7][8]

[edit] Critical Reception

(The performers) bring their demanding roles to life with enthusiasm. The sheer number of words required of each of them over the course of the two-hour play — is impressive.[14]

  • Chris Silk, Naples Daily News

The show is peppered with deliciously witty dialogue, winning performances and juicy Hollywood nuggets...ends up as a weird mix of a real-life scenario and goofball humor, but somehow it all works. The show moves along so fast and so funny, it’s over long before you want it to be.[15]
