Stafford Senior High School is a public secondary school located in Falmouth, Virginia - just north of the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and currently serves students in the southern portion of Stafford County, Virginia.

Stafford Senior High School is a comprehensive secondary school for students in grades 9 through 12. It was the only Stafford County high school from 1952 through 1982 (when North Stafford High School was opened). Stafford Senior has a long tradition of academic excellence, a commitment to student activities, and extensive community involvement. Stafford Senior High School is also the seat of the Commonwealth Governor's School for Stafford and King George Counties.

The current principal is Joseph Lewis.

In 2007, Stafford High ranked 1304 out of 1400 top public high schools in the nation due to the high number of Advanced Placement tests taken.

Stafford Senior High currently fields varsity teams in 14 different sports as a member of the AAA Commonwealth District and Northwest Region of the Virginia High School League. Stafford High School is now offering ping pong as a sport. They are the only school in the county to do so.

[edit] Vegetarian Options

In 2008, Stafford Senior High School became the first school in the area to offer vegetarian options to students. The school's menu has adopted one non-meat option every week and offers a "vegetarian lunch" everyday upon request. The lunch is made up of two hummus packets, a cheese stick, a bread offering of either pita or bagel and milk.

The school's student produced newspaper, The Smoke Signal, has been in print for over 65 years. The paper over went a redesign in the 2007-2008 school year, which incorporated a new logo and more inviting layout. The paper's staff also boasts a high number writers for it! and Myline, a weekly student produced section in the area's local paper, The Freelance-Star.
