Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung

Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) (In English: Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design) is a vocational university of Karlsruhe, Germany. Together with its sister insitution, the Centre for Arts and Media (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, (ZKM)), it was founded in 1992 by Prof. Heinrich Klotz. The university, focusing on research and teaching in New Media and Media Art offers five Master's courses (Media Art, Visual Communication, Product Design, Stage Design, and Media Theory), as well as post-graduate courses and a PhD programme. HfG was the first art academy in Germany to have a complete theoretical faculty. Current rector is Prof. Dr. Peter Sloterdijk.
