[edit] Format

This portal needs some slight formatting tweaks, as some things appear to overlap in Firefox. --Phoenix2 22:09, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Definitely... i think it has to do with firefox's interpretation of wikipedia software. As such, I fear it cannot be changed, though I will give it a try. --jonasaurus 02:28, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Star Wars films

There is currently a question as to what exactly is covered by Category:Star Wars films. Is it just Episodes I-VI? Should there be a subcategory specifically for Star Wars episodes? Are things like The Star Wars Holiday Special and Ewoks: Battle for Endor included? If they aren't what category do they go into? Please visit Category talk:Star Wars films and weigh in. --BrianSmithson 13:13, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hey Star Wars fans

Check out "Lucas Bashing" phenomenon- an urgent need for cleanup and possibly a name change. please comment on the talk page. Borisblue 16:35, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Cleanup? - It looks stupid enough to be deleted. It is *very* opinionated, in any case. -Xol 19:34, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Action figures

Hey there star wars people, I'm trying to flesh out the star wars action figures Category:Action Figures and I can't seem to find any info on the star wars action figures in the portal, where might I find some info on them. If it doesnt exist perhaps the star wars community would like to remedy this omission? Htaccess 20:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Hello any one that knows a fair amount of information (history, the I owe yous, ect) on the star wars action figures pleas write an article on the phenomenon

[edit] Chage the title font to blue

I think the title font should chage to blue.Yellow doesn't a like very good star wars color.Blue seems like a better color. I going to chage the the long time ago in galaxy far far away color to bue yellow on white backround is hard to read.--Scott3 23:53, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Blue is used too much and yellow is the classic Star Wars color. Jedi6-(need help?) 00:01, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
I think blue is a bettter color it was the font used in the movies for a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.--Scott3 21:17, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm with Scott here. Blue is a classic SW color, and the current yellow is just awful. --maru (talk) contribs 21:48, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
I prefer the yellow font, myself. The Wookieepedian 12:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Order

I'd just like to announce that i'm going to take it upon myself to update this page regularly, with new content. I'm also taking initiative with the Star Wars WikiProject, so this is one of my new changes. Having a page like this stagnant since April is just not a good thing, and its stopping.

I've changed the 'Selected List' to Selected Race, a new item which is up for voting every week, because most of the lists were deleted. For the Selected Race category, nominations may be taken from List of Star Wars races and put up for weekly voting. The selected article, DYK and quote is also going to be updated weekly, so voting can resume once again. Firestorm 00:29, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestions for reorgonizing some Star Wars articles

  • merge Darth Xio Jade with list of sith this article is currently listed as one to be deleted i have placed it Star Wars stubs category

[edit] Fair use images

I removed the pictures in "selected race" and "selected article" sections, as they are a violation of Wikipedia's fair use policy. Please remember that fair use images can only be used in the article namespace (the main page though is an exception).--TBCTaLk?!? 03:03, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

An amendment is under discussion: Wikipedia:Fair use/Amendment/Fair use images in portals --GunnarRene 22:38, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Formatting

C'mon, people, I just went through and corrected a lot of things that shouldn't have been. Movies unitalicized, inconsistent use of periods at the end of sentences, "dumb" wikilinks (ie: Revenge of the Sith rather than Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith... hell, I even corrected a link to just Luke), etc. Let's clean up the portal; in theory, this is the gateway to all the Star Wars articles on Wikipedia, and we need to put our best face forward. EVula // talk // // 04:23, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spoiler question

I think a mention of the "name the new Sith" contest would be appropriate for the news section, but I'm unsure if it would be considered a spoiler. (The fact I'm not naming the newly-dark character here probably demonstrates something, but oh well). Even though that character's Sith ambitions are under the spoiler warning in the character's article, the fact that LucasArts is promoting it so heavily- to the extent that starwars.com has "Last Change to Name That Sith" superimposed over the character's head- would certainly support the idea that it's out in the open by now. So what does everyone think? Stilgar135 03:07, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Episode VII?

The news section says that George Lucas plans to relese episode VII in 2008, but I have not been able to find any oficial information about a new movie on the internet. Is the news is intended to be about the upcoming TV series?RoyRedersn17 04:26, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

It was vandalism, I removed it, thanks for bringing it up. Darthgriz98 04:30, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Portal peer review

This portal is undergoing a PPR so it can (hopefully) be entered into the Featured article list. Below is a todo list for the portal. If you can think of anything else to add to this list, please do!

[edit] Portal:Star Wars

Hello, I believe that this Portal could be worthy of the featured portal rank but there are still a few things that may need changing. In 2006, this portal was put up for featured portal but was rejected because it was too new. Two years later, I believe it has a chance ...

  • For instance, a lot of the portal pages do not have the portal link. This includes even the main pages such as Star Wars: Episode I and Star Wars: Expanded Universe. It would be very helpful if people could fix these pages by adding the following template below infoboxes and the like: {{portal|Star Wars|Star Wars Logo.svg}} It should end up looking like this on the pages. (See below)

If for any reason it does not, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.

  • The layout of the current portal page is good but at the moment does not contain any pictures. I am not very good at formatting (I'll admit) so if anyone else could help on that, that would be great.
  • Also, if anyone else could regularly update this site (more than it already is perhaps) that should also lead to a better portal page!
  • If there is anything else that you can think of that you think will improve the page please do not hesitate to either ask or just do it yourself!

Thanks, hopefully this should get moving on pretty well, pretty quickly, SkE (talk) 16:19, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

To-do list for Portal:Star Wars:

Here are some tasks you can do:
  • Update: Update all Star Wars related pages by inserting the Star Wars Portal link {{portal|Star Wars|Star Wars Logo.svg}} under the infoboxes (or equivelent).

[edit] A question about order of Jedi strength

I hope you guys don't get angry because I might start a lengthy discussion with my opinion. However, I feel that it is necessary to improve the accuracy of some of the Star Wars articles. Let me just cut to the chase my question is who are the strongest force users from the films (mainly, because it would take forever to evaulate all the jedi in all the works from Star Wars). In many articles it either blantingly states that Joda is the strongest Jedi or it is hinted to this. Other articles point towards Luke Skywalker. However lets try to stick to the facts. I think that in the films the strongest force user is Emperor Palpatine. In the Star Wars Episode III articles it states that Yoda and Darth Sidious are equally matched. Does anyone have any references that support that claim? IMHO Darth Sidious at least at that point in the film has a slight advantage over Master Yoda. Here is my reasoning, at that point in the movie the separatist are dead and the only remaining Sith's are Vader and Sidious, so if Yoda defeats Sidious he would overturn the empire and the Sith would be destroyed (seeing as Vader is defeated by Obi-Wan). Yes I understand that at that point Yoda does not yet have knowledge that Obi-Wan had bested Vader, however, he sent Obi-Wan because he had full confidence that he would succeed. My point is that if Yoda were indeed more powerful than Sidious he would have killed him during the dual instead of running away. The reason being, the immediate overthrowing of the Sith and the empire (which was their goal from the beginning) but he does not (even though he is technically not defeated), instead he chooses to run away (because he knows he is outmatched), and even states "Into exile, I must go, failed, I have" (I think those are his exact words). As for Luke Skywalker he is decisively defeated by Sidious and is only spared when Vader intervene's. So he cannot be considered even in the top five in my opinion. Vader himself is also extremely powerful. I think that at the end of revenge of the sith he is at least as powerful as Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan defeats him because he is the wiser and more experienced Jedi and understands Vader's weakness and how to use it to his advantage. I think a case can be made for Mace Windu to at least round off the top 5. He holds his own against the Emperor and the outcome of that battle cannot be decerned from the events that unfolded. I would lean toward the following: Sidious, Yoda, Windu, Vader, Luke. If anyone could clarify that point it would be great. I am open to discussion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryulen1325 (talkcontribs) 06:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
