- J. J. Abrams made public on February 23, 2007 the decision that he will direct Star Trek XI.
- The producer for the next and upcoming Star Trek film was revealed to be J. J. Abrams. His various contributions to television include writing for programmes such as Lost, Alias, and Felicity. Star Trek XI will be written and produced by J.J. Abrams for release in 2009. A full interview with J.J. - Alexander Siddig has also played the part of The Angel Gabriel in the film The Nativity Story released on the 1st December of last year. This follows his more recent role in film Kingdom of Heaven amongst others.
- In July's Comic Con taking place in San Diego guests include the likes of Nichelle Nichols as well Chase Masterson presenting a short film called Déjà Vu directed and written by Tim Russ and co-starring Garrett Wang. Others include Ira Steven Behr, René Echevarria and Ronald D. Moore who are there to talk about Star Trek but also about The 4400 and Battlestar Galactica. - The composer and writer of Where my heart will take me, the opening theme music to Star Trek: Enterprise, Diane Warren received The Crystal Award for her work on that particular song by the organization of Women in Film.
