[edit] Starting the Article

I just started this page and will be adding more information and references very soon. If anyone else has information that would be useful then please contribute! Most of the history of this school isn't on the internet, so information is mostly going to be from books published by local people with an interest in history - it would be very helpful if anyone else fom the area could add any material they have. This is especially because there is a rich local history to this school, a history remembered by many people but only properly documented by a few.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:St Thomas' Logo small.jpg

Image:St Thomas' Logo small.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:48, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Image re-uploaded because it shouldn't have been deleted. More description of the source has been added to prevent it being deleted again. Alfirin (talk) 16:36, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of Merge Tag, and Further Work

I've removed the merge tag that had been placed on this article because nobody actually seems to have suggested the merge here at all. If people would please post here for a response about major changes like that before tagging it for review then people will actually have a chance of sorting the article out before any changes which could see the article deleted are made.

I'm going to have a look at the whole article and see if there are any changes I can make to improve it. I also have a reference I'm about to add which deals with the history of the school when it was linked with St Thomas' Church. I'll be looking for references about more current events after I've worked on the article. Alfirin (talk) 16:44, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Recent Edits and Revision

Sorry to make big changes to the article. If anybody disagrees with the content/layout etc. please respond here so we can all agree on the article. Here is an explaination of my main edits.

- I've split the article into different segments. The segments may be comaratively small, but if the information in them was put forward together it would become confused.

- I've removed the sentence about well-stocked libraries, an abundance of computers, etc. because it sounded too much like an advertisment for the school.

- Added a lot about the history of the school. Does anyone have a reference for it moving to Ward Avenue in 1969? If not I'll have a dig around and see if I can find one.

I'll be changing some more in a few minutes. Alfirin (talk) 17:31, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
