OK, so who is the knowledgable German user who knows all about the founder of Barts etc???? I am intrigued! :) Nevilley 17:53 Mar 11, 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Sherlock Holmes

Isn't this where Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson meet for the very first time in Arthur Conan Doyle's stories? Should there be a mention of this? Angmering 21:19, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

A reference might help! :) 82.45.248.177 02:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
I have just checked in the version of A Study in Scarlet available at Wikisource, and it is indeed their first meeting place. I shall add it to the article, with the reference. Angmering 07:49, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] CHS is NOT in Camden

I was gobsmacked to read that the Charterhouse Square site is in Camden. It's in Islington, but actually I feel that which borough this site lies in is of no relevance to the article anyway. Saying "Islington" does not really place it as most people would think much further northwards than CHS. I feel it's better to leave it out, then if someone has a pressing need to know exactly where it is they can click the link and read all about it! :) 82.45.248.177 02:06, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

    • It's not even that simple. The buildings and the back gate are in Islington, but the front gate is in City. This was seen to be an important reason as to why the Barts Bar managed to open, and stay open, late at night without police interference (in fact, they often frequented the bar!).
