The St Andrews Economic Forum (SAEF) is an annual summit of students and academics at the University of St Andrews. It is hosted by the St Andrews Economics Society in close cooperation with the School of Economics and Finance.
Aimed at providing an exclusive platform with an intensive dialogue between students and experts, the SAEF consists of a plenary session, where the overarching theme is presented by a keynote speaker. The participants subsequently break up into different workshops to deal with the more specific aspects of the theme. Guest speakers address the workshops so as to inform and stimulate a discussion.
The inaugural SAEF took place in May 2008. It was founded by the then President of the Economics Society Maximilian Rofagha. In 2008, a wide range of students attended the event, ranging from Scotland to Germany.
