St Issey

St Issey is a small village located about 2.5 miles (4km) south of Padstow and approximately 5 miles (8km) north of St Columb Major in Cornwall, England, UK. The parish and covers an area of approximately 4500 acres (18 sq km).
On the river Camel in this parish there the remains of a sea mill.[1]
Saint Yse was one of the twenty-four children of St Brychan, a Welsh saint and king, in the 4th century.
In 1869 the church tower was struck by lightning and collapsed[2]

On 28 December 1942 the British tug HMS St. Issey (Lt. J.H.W. Howe, RNR) was torpedoed and sunk by German submarine (U-617) off Benghazi, Libya [3]
