- The Jesuits have established many colleges named after St. Francis Xavier in various parts of India. The best known ones are in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, was affiliated to the University of Calcutta and has been recenly granted autonomy. It is located in Park Street and very well known for its science, economics, commerce and English faculty.
- It is very well suited for those pursuing other professional certifications like chartered accountants and cost accountants. It is known for its excellent faculties, infrastructure and strong sense of discipline.
- The college has two main hostels, the Christian and the Hindu hostels. The Christian hostel is inside the college campus.
- The college motto is "Nihil Ultra," Latin for "Nothing Beyond." Its alumni, as well as the students, call themselves Xaverians. The college fest is a three-day event known as Xavotsav, usually taking place between the 19th and 23rd of December.
The above passage has been removed for the time being as sources haven't been found for them as yet. Couldn't get it from the official sites as yet, at least I didn't find them.

I don't think the college will disallow use of its passage whether with changes or not if it is in the interest of the college and it is so for an article about it in wikipedia Realdan (talk) 09:02, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
