St. Nicolas was written with amateur musicians in mind and is frequently performed by youth and amateur ensembles.[citation needed]

why? - there are no "old" or and v. few "professional" children's choirs to my knowledge (assuming Choir School choirs like King's College Cambridge or the Vienna Boys' Choir can be considered professional!), so some of the performers at least will be young and amateur

I placed the citation tag here in respect to the line "It was written with amateur musicians in mind." It seems like speculation to say what Britten had in mind - or at least, something for which we should cite a source. MarkBuckles (talk) 14:56, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
