St. Xavier’s Hazaribagh is a Jesuit school in Hazaribagh, India. It was established in 1952 by an Australian Jesuit missionary, Rev Fr. John Moore. He was then a young man of 32 and later went on to win the National Teachers Award. In its initial years, the school was linked to Loyola School, Jamshedpur. The first batch sat for the University of Cambridge (UK) Overseas School Certificate examination at Hazaribagh in 1958. This school used to be just a boys school till year 1995. later on girls were also admitted,which in turn made this school a co-education school in the year 2006. It is the best school in eastern India and the students of St. Xavier's are one of the most competent of the lot. The school boasts of a dynamic infrastructure, with a beautiful campus. The school has one of the finest infrastructure for sports, major credit goes to the jesuits who taught in the school ,one such jesuit was Fr James Thwaites, who is responsible for the numerous ground that the school has.The present principal of St.Xavier's is Fr. P. J. James. St. Xavier's is not one of those ultra modern schools, but its beautifully designed school schedule allows an individual to grow into a competent person, the individuality really comes out, and that's what the school strives for.

The Old Boys Association of the School(HOXA), is celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2008. The Celebrations have been planned with the Innaugural event in Kolkata on 25th January 2008. The Celebrations then move to Hazaribag on 29th January 2008. The HOXANs in Northern Zone and Western Zone, have their get-togthers on 2nd February 2008 and 9th February 2008 in Delhi and Pune respectively. The Old Boys Association of the School has also launched website to mark the occasion: www.hoxa50years.org.
