St. Walburg is a town of roughly 700 people located in west-central Saskatchewan. It is located on the prairie but 10 kilometers to the north the provincial forest begins. The main economies are the oil and natural gas industries as well as grain and cattle farming. The town was originally settled mostly by German settlers who settled the area between the 1910's and 1930's. Most people in the community are of at least some German origin.
This town is also home town to former chairman of the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club, Cal Nichols.
